5.2.4.5.3 VLAN/S-TAG Allocation
The VLAN/STAG ID is used to switch frames to the selected VCG. This allocation menu
selects which ID’s will pass over this group.
It is not allowed to allocate the same VLAN to multiple VCAT Groups.
The allocation can be made in several formats:
1
VLAN ID 1 shall pass
1,5
VLAN ID 1 and 5 shall pass
1-100
VLAN ID’s 1 to 100 shall pass
In order for the control protocols to pass over the VCG, the control VLAN/STAG ID must
be amongst the ID’s allocated to this VCG.
5.2.4.5.4 Control VLAN
The control VLAN ID is used to transport OAM and other control protocols. For control
protocols to pass over the VCG, the control ID must be included in the VLAN allocation for
this VCG.
5.2.4.5.5 Control S-TAG
Where the WCM1800 is operating in QinQ mode with S-Tags being used to select
between the VCG’s this tag is allocated to control protocols. Again, the S-Tag must be
amongst the allocation.
5.2.4.6 OAM
The WCM1800 offers IEEE 802.3 clause 57 link OAM over the VCG and bonded WAN
ports. The OAM controller may be disabled, active or passive.
Where a Metrodata MetroConnect product is found at the far end of the link, additional
status is made available,
