5.2.4.1 State
The state configuration item controls the admin state for the VCG. If a VCG is in the
admin up state it can pass data and will generate alarms when error conditions exist. If a
VCG is not used, it should be placed in the admin down state to prevent alarms being
raised.
5.2.4.2 Encapsulation
The encapsulation menu configures the method for encapsulating frames on the WAN
port.
5.2.4.2.1 Encapsulation
The options for encapsulation are as follows:
GFP
standards based encapsulation, byte aligned and may be used with VCG
X.86
byte aligned encapsulation
HDLC
bit aligned encapsulation, cannot be used with VCAT.
5.2.4.2.2 GFP FCS
When GFP encapsulation is selected, this item enables the GFP payload checksum as an
additional error detection.
