5.2.4.2.3 Strip MAC FCS
Ethernet frames are protected by a 32 bit checksum. When the GFP FCS is enabled it is
possible to strip the MAC checksum to save WAN bandwidth and recalculate at the remote
end.
5.2.4.2.4 Payload Scrambler
Since GFP uses pattern detection to determine frame alignment, payload scrambling is
enabled to prevent ghosting of the idle patterns.
5.2.4.2.5 Flow Control
The WCM1800 supports pause based flow control. When flow control is enabled, priority
based queuing is disabled.
5.2.4.2.6 Max Frame Size
The WCM1800 supports maximum frame sizes as follows:
1518/1522
IEEE802.3l MAC/VLAN maximum frame size
2048
Mini Jumbo frame supporting QinQ, provider bridging
10k
Jumbo Frames.
5.2.4.2.7 Priority Table
When priority based queuing is enabled, the VLAN priority or the IP DSCP tokens may be
used to determine which of the four priority queues are used.
