In order to make sure that the delivered boiler can operate in a closed system, it is necessary to contact
the manufacturer's service department, as not all the system components required for such an installation
system are included in the product, some of them like. For example, a cooling coil is optional.
6 Operation and use
6.1 Basics of boiler operation
Burner
The combustion process takes place thanks to automatic feeding of fuel by means of the
feeding unit to the burner. Combustion is supported by forced air blowing. The fuel is automatically
taken up by means of a controller fixed to the boiler. To ignite the fuel in the automatic ignition
system, an igniter controlled electronically by the boiler controller is used.
NOTE!
The firebox should always be closed except for manual firing, loading and disposal of
combustion waste. In the burner body there is a Danfoss thermostatic valve, which serves as a
protection
-
after exceeding a certain temperature, it opens and thus floods the furnace with water
from the "firefighter" system.
Fuel tank drive unit
The drive unit consists of a gearmotor and rods (Fig. 11 and 12). The drive unit is driven
by a geared motor type: (1400 rpm, 0.25kW motor), by means of which a plate is introduced into
the oscillating motion, which feeds the chips to the feeding comb (fig. 7), then the chips are fed to
the burner by means of the feeding piston.
Blower fan
A fan is used for blowing (fig. 1), the fan is controlled by the boiler controller (fig. 16).
Controller
The temperature controller/regulator is a device which allows you to control the operation
of the feeder and the blowing fan. Additionally, the device can cooperate with a room controller
(picture 17). The controller automatically selects appropriate amounts of fuel and air based on the
boiler and flue gas temperature. Each controller should be set individually for its own needs,
depending on the fuel used, preliminary settings of the controller are programmed by the
manufacturer in accordance with the specification of a given boiler and do not require any
additional actions on the part of the user except for settings of the temperature and power of the
boiler (controller manual). METAL-FACH Technika Grzewcza is not responsible for incorrect
controller settings by the customer. In case of problems, please contact an authorized company
service or installer.
Shields
All dangerous parts of the feeder are protected by means of guards with appropriate
warning pictograms to be used.
Hall sensor for piston position (Fig. 10) (combustion chamber closure)
The sensor senses one full revolution of the geared motor, is responsible for setting the pistons so
that the upper one is in the extended position and the lower one is retracted - then the combustion
chambers are secured. Otherwise, if the pistons are positioned in the opposite direction, there is a danger
that the fire may retreat into the fuel tank. If the controller indicates a "feeder circuit" error, check the
operation of the sensor, in particular if it is not mechanically damaged, its cleanliness and the cleanliness
of the magnet mounted on the string (fig. 10).
