Wait until the transfer case shift process is

The transmission ratio

between the engine and

wheels is only approx-

imately one third of that in

the HIGH RANGE road posi-

tion. The drive torque is cor-

respondingly higher as a

result.

Do not use LOW RANGE:

on slippery road surfaces,

e.g. in the event of slush

on snow or ice-covered

roads

if you have snow chains

on your vehicle

The LOW RANGE offroad gear assists you when

driving off-road and when fording. When LOW

RANGE is engaged, the engine’s performance

characteristics and the gearshifting character-

istics of the automatic transmission are adapted

for this purpose.

From HIGH RANGE to LOW RANGE

Only change from HIGH RANGE to LOW

the engine is running

you are driving at speeds below 40 km/h

Press LOW RANGE button
