Introduction to CITAN, Model Series 415
l
Heating, ventilation, air conditioning
The standard heater and blower unit includes an air
circulation function, ventilation to prevent fogging of
the windshield and side windows, an air recirculation
mode, a filter for dust, fine dust, pollen and particu-
lates as well as four air vents.
The vehicles equipped with diesel engine feature an
air-side electric PTC heater booster as standard (PTC
= Positive Temperature Coefficient) which is located
directly behind the coolant-side heat exchanger.
It is activated depending on the coolant tempera-
ture/the setting of the temperature rotary switch.
It cuts in steplessly depending on the temperature
gradient in the coolant circuit. The PTC heater booster
is only supplied with power when the engine is
running.
Options (SA):
• The manually operated air conditioning system
consists of the standard heater and blower system
as well as an integrated air conditioning system for
selectively controlling the temperature in the
vehicle in several stages. In addition, fogged
windows are cleared more quickly due to the
dehumidifying effect of the air conditioning
system. The intensity of the air conditioning output
can be controlled via the blower control system. If
this is set to stage "0", the air conditioning is
automatically switched off even if the "A/C" switch
is activated.
• A semi-automatic air conditioning system
(TEMPMATIC) can also be integrated into the
standard heating and ventilation system. As soon
as the automatic control system is activated (AUTO
button on), the TEMPMATIC function automatically
regulates the interior temperature, the intensity of
ventilation and the air distribution (with engine
running). The air conditioning system is switched
on and off by the system depending on the outside
temperature in order to achieve the interior climate
setting. In addition, the strength and direction of
ventilation as well as the temperature can be
manually adjusted and set to several stages.
