Introduction to CITAN, Model Series 415
l
Body lengths
The Citan has a unibody construction and, depending
on the body type and model designation, is available in
up to three wheelbases/body lengths.
The vehicle has not yet been classified according to
EuroNCAP (New Car Assessment Programme).
Aerodynamics and aeroacoustics
The quality of the outside mirrors has been developed
further to improve their aeroacoustics. In addition,
aerodynamic flat blade wipers with an improved wipe
pattern are available optionally.
Trailer hitch
Two different trailer hitches are available as special
equipment:
• Trailer hitch with non-removable ball head
• Trailer hitch with removable ball head
The permissible towing capacity is 660 kg - 750 kg
(depending on variant) unbraked and 1050 kg braked,
the maximum tongue weight of the trailer hitch is
75 kg.
Body manufacturer solutions
The Citan is extremely well suited to bodies/conver-
sions and can thus be adapted to a very wide range of
industries. As a result, body/equipment mounting
directives will be produced for body manufacturers to
provide them with all of the relevant details. For
example, an increased payload is available as special
equipment if necessary.
Roof carrier systems
In addition to the standard cargo area, there are two
additional options which further improve the flexible
transport capabilities of the new Citan
• Plastic ladder flap (optional, only for panel van
A1/A2). This roof flap located on the top of the roof
at the rear can be unlocked and raised e.g. to
transport a ladder which does not fit into the cargo
area.
• An optional roof railing for the passenger van with
carrying bars integrated in the side supports
creates additional usable cargo area. The
maximum load capacity of the roof carriers is 80 kg
(40 kg per roof carrier) with an evenly distributed
load. The roof railing consists of two longitudinal
struts, each with integrated carriers, which can
also be locked laterally in the carrying position. The
rear carrier can also be repositioned and locked in
place.
