Introduction to CITAN, Model Series 415
The wheels of the front axle are suspended by
MacPherson suspension struts with lower rectangular
control arms. The maximum permissible axle load of
the front axle is 1125 kg. Each stabilizer bar is
connected to the suspension strut by rods. Depending
on the wheel offset of the rims, the front wheel toe is
between 1519 and 1521 mm.
The rear axle is a compound-link axle with internal
stabilizer bar. Semi-trailing arms, coil springs and
transverse stabilizer bars provide the required driving
stability, axle guidance and vibration damping. The
maximum permissible axle load of the rear axle is
1240 kg. Depending on the wheel offset of the rims,
the rear wheel toe is between 1533 mm and
1534 mm.
The suspension tuning of the Citan ensures:
• Active/nimble handling characteristics
• Few sprung mass vibrations during driving
maneuvers and when driving over road bumps
• Tight yet comfortable shock absorber tuning
• Safe handling characteristics when cornering and
in crosswind
• Improved aerodynamics due to slight lowering
