Selecting Delivery Mode
Below are the steps for selecting a delivery mode for programming with infusion settings:
1.
After successfully completing its system startup self-tests, the pump displays the S
ELECT
THE
M
ODE
screen.
•
The delivery modes on this screen were setup by
Custom Configuration
, which was completed by the
person responsible for custom configuration
before the pumps were delivered to your work area.
•
Also, if the pump has been configured with “E-Plates” enabled, the first screen is the S
ELECT THE
L
IBRARY
E
NTRY
screen (see User Programmable Libraries).
2.
If the S

screen appears, press the
Main Menu
button to call the S
ELECT THE
M
ODE
screen.
3.
Press any
Number
button to select the desired delivery mode. If you make a mistake use the
Back
button to
undo it.
4.
If you do not see the mode you need, press the
More
button to display the next page of delivery modes.
5.
At the next menu, either:
a)
Select an option by pressing its
number
, and continue.
b)
Or press the
Beginning
button to return to the beginning screen.
Syringe Manufacturer/Type Setup
Below is an example for syringe manufacturer/type setup for use with the
Medfusion 3500
pump:
1.
Use your standard protocol for preparing your syringe & tubing and filling the syringe.
2.
When delivery mode is chosen, set the syringe information. If more than one manufacturer is configured for
the pump then the S

screen appears.
The syringe manufacturers on this screen were setup in
Custom Configuration
, which was completed by
the person responsible for custom configuration before the pumps were delivered to your work area.

If only one syringe manufacturer has been setup for use by this pump (through custom configuration), then this entire
level, and its screen, is skipped during infusion programming.
