Master/Slave Setting (R4G series with the -LGmb option)
Set the role of "Master" or "Slave" with the [Master/Slave] selector switch on the rear panel.
It is set to "Master" at factory shipment.
When the [Master/Slave] selector switch is set to "Slave", only the remote
operation is enabled and the voltage/current setting dial operation on the
front panel is
disabled
.
As the master unit sent various settings to its slave units when it is turned
on, make sure to turn on the slave units first in the case of the
master/slave unit configuration.

Description of Master/Slave Function
Set the [Master/Slave] selector switch of a unit selected as the master to "Master" and the switch of a
unit selected as the slave units to "Slave", and connect between the CO-M cable connector (OUT) of
the master unit and the CO-M cable connector (IN) of the slave unit using the supplied CO-M cable.
(For details, refer to [6-1-2 Master/Slave Connection Diagram].)
Slave units immediately follow and vary each operation of the master unit such as the OUTPUT
ON/OFF (when the [OUTPUT ON/OFF] switch is set to ON of the slave units), output voltage setting,
output current setting, OVP, OCP.
Use all "+ Sense" and "- Sense" terminals when using the remote sensing function.
Precautions on the Master/Slave Function:
When the master unit detects that a protection function has been activated, the outputs of
all
slave units
connected to the master unit will also be turned off. If a slave unit detected it, only
the output of
the detected slave unit
will be turned off.
In order to turn on the output of a slave unit whose output has been turned off, turn off the
[OUTPUT ON/OFF] switch on the master unit to reset everything, and then turn it back on.

The above operation is applied to OVP, -LD (Interlock), and OCP.
In the master/slave function, the master unit sends setting signals to the slave units when it is
turned on. Therefore,
turn on the slave units first to start up the slave units
, and then
turn on the master unit approx. 10 seconds later to start up the master unit. Pay attention to it
when configuring your system. When outputting, press the [SET] switch of the slave units to
check that the preset values of the master unit are set in the slave units before turning the output
ON. (* with delay trigger function in slave remote setting)
The Master/Slave function in this section is controlled by digital signals.

Note that if analog
signals are connected only to the master unit, only the master unit will be controlled. (For details,
refer to [7-3 Remote Programming].)
When using analog signals to control all units, connect analog signals to the master unit and
each slave unit respectively. When using analog signals to operate the Master/Slave
configuration, refer to [7-5 Single Control Parallel Operation].
When turning the output on and off with the -LS (remote switch), use the "OUTPUT" signal sent
from the master unit to the slave units.
Do not form a master/slave configuration using different models.
Only the same model can form a master/slave configuration. Mixing different models
for it may cause failure or malfunction
