When Connecting a Load with Accumulated Energy

When a load with accumulated energy such as a battery is connected, current flows from the load to the

internal circuitry of the unit. Therefore, the unit can be a malfunction, and/or the load's life might be

affected.

When connecting to such a load, be sure to connect a diode in series as protection against reverse

current between the unit and the load, as shown in the diagram below.



Select a diode to protect the unit and load from reverse current based on the following criteria.

1.  Rated reverse voltage resistance: two times or higher than the rated output voltage of the unit
2.  Forward current capacity: three to ten times the rated output current of the unit
3.  Less loss



Consider the heat generated by the diode. If the heat dissipation is insufficient, the diode will burn
out



It cannot be used together with the remote sensing function.
