To gain access to the nozzle / seal 
assemblies, rotate the oven assembly 
around its hinge point towards the back 
of the instrument. This allows access to 
both hot and cold nozzle assemblies.  

 

Using the suggested tools, replace the 
O-rings in both nozzle assemblies as 
required. 

Ensure the new O-ring(s) are correctly 
seated and damage free.

Cold Trap

Packing / conditioning a cold trap

Ready-packed traps are available from Markes International Ltd.

Empty trap tubes (U-T7EMP-2S) are also 
is constructed of quartz. It is fragile and should be packed with care.
 

 

Empty cold traps should be packed from the wider (2 mm) bore end using the following procedure.
