OPERATION AND CONTROL
1. OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS
DŮLEŽITÉ:
• If the heat pump is needed to heat the pool, the filtration pump must run and
the water must flow through the heat exchanger.
• Never switch on the heat pump being without water and the filter unit out of
operation.
• Never cover the heat pump; ambient air must flow through it during operation.
• Protect the heat pump from freezing. Before the onset of frost, drain the
water from the filtration and the heat pump and winterize according to the
instructions..
2. WATER CONDENSATION
Lower evaporator temperature during heat pump operation is the cause of con-
densation on the evaporator fins and the formation of condensate or icing. If the
relative humidity is very high, it may be several liters of condensed water per hour.
The water runs down the fins into the space of the bottom of the cabinet and flows
freely under it.
It is very easy to confuse condensed water with water leaking from inside the heat
pump. There are two easy ways to find if it's condensate or not:
1. Switch off the device and run only the pool pump. If the water stops flowing, it is
condensed water.
2. Perform a test for the presence of chlorine in the effluent (if the pool is being trea-
ted) - if chlorine is not present in the effluent, then it is condensate.
Note: Any humidity around the device is caused by the condensation of water vapour
and is completely OK.
3. POSSIBLE PROBLEMS CAUSED BY EXTERNAL CONDITIONS
Under certain external conditions, the heat exchange between refrigerant and
water on the one hand, and between refrigerant and air on the other hand, may be
insufficient. This can result in an increase in the pressure in the refrigeration circuit
and an increase in the power consumption of the compressor.
The heat pump is equipped with a number of pressure and temperature sensors
that prevent improper operation under these extreme conditions.
It could be caused by insufficient water flow. To increase the heat exchange of the
refrigerant
“
water close the bypass valve (if installed) to increase the water flow
through the exchanger.
4. NOTES TO THE HEAT PUMP OPERATIO
• The efficiency of the heat pump increases with cumulative ambient air tempe-
rature.
• It may take several days to reach the desired temperature. This time com-
pletely normal and depends mainly on the climatic conditions, the volume of
water in the pool, the size of the water surface, the operating time of the heat
pump and heat losses of the pool (e.g. evaporation from the water surface,
heat transfer, radiation, etc.). If sufficient measures are not taken to reduce
