Operation
7.4.1
Monitoring Operation
IMPORTANT!
Do not overload engine.
If faults occur, investigate and solve them immediately to prevent major damage from oc
curring!
The engine oil pressure is monitored during its operation.
If a fall in oil pressure is reported by the monitor, immediately shut down engine.
7.4.2
Starting Engine
DANGER!
Risk of injury caused by moving parts!
Rotating or linear moving parts can cause serious injuries.
For this reason:

Before start up ensure that no persons are in the danger area of the engine and driven
components.
During start up do not use any additional starting aids (e.g. injection with Startpilot).
1. Unload the engine before start up; e.g. uncouple, switch off load, set to idle, etc.
2. switch on EDC.
3. Initiation of the flame primer system.
4. Initiation of the start sequence after termination of the preheating (Starting aid) and interruption of the
start sequence after engine start at approx. 300-400

/min engine speed.
If the engine does not start

Start time limitation is set to 10-15 seconds.
S
3-4 times repeat of the attempt to start with pauses in between of 15-20 seconds.
A long period at idling with the engine cold should be avoided, since as is known for all combustion engines
an increase in wear occurs due to corrosion. Long periods at idle is also environmentally damaging.
7.4.3
Engine Shut Off
1. Set engine to idle.
2. After a higher loading, after approx. every 5 minutes allow the engine to run at idle.
3. Switch the engine off via EDC.
4. Make sure that the engine cannot be started by unauthorised persons!
7.4.4
Stopping in an Emergency
An emergency-off button, for shutting down the system in an emergency, must be installed on every en
gine.
