Check the configuration of the ISIS process between neighbors.
Modify the system ID to ensure they are different.
The neighbor is in Init
status
The IIH packets authentication is configured at the opposite
interface.
How to find out the cause:
Open the debug isis adj-packets command to see that the IIH
packets are sent and received normally. Run the show isis neighbor
command, the neighbor interface is in the Init status. Run the show
run command to check the configuration of the corresponding
interface.
Solution:
Check the opposite configuration. Remove the opposite IIH
authentication or add the IIH authentication at the local end.

How to find out the cause:
Open the debug isis update-packets command or debug isis snp-
packets to see the prompt information: Authentication Failure. At
the two ends, run the show run router isis command to check
whether the LSP/SNP authentication types are the same.
Solution:
Modify the LSP/SNP authentication types to ensure consistency.
The LSP/SNP

How to find out the cause:
Open the debug isis update-packets command or debug isis snp-
packets to see the prompt information: Authentication Failure. At
the two ends, run the show run router isis command to check
whether the LSP/SNP authentication parameters (password) are the
same.
Solution:
Modify the LSP/SNP authentication parameters (password) to
ensure consistency.
Overload bit is set in
the opposite ISIS
process.
How to find out the cause:
Run the show isis database to check whether the opposite OL bit is
set to 1. At the opposite end, run show run router isis command to
check whether the overload bit is set in the ISIS process.
Solution:
Remove the configuration of the overload bit of the opposite ISIS
process.
The metric types set in
the two ISIS processes
are not matched
How to find out the cause:
Run the show run router isis command to check whether the metric
modes of the two ISIS processes are the same.
Solution:
Set the metric types set in the two ISIS processes to the same
value.
