P0340 - Camshaft sensor no signal error
CAM SHAFT POSITION SENSOR
The Hall Effect camshaft position sensor senses the Top dead center (TDC) point of the # 1 cylinder in the
compression stroke ,which allows the ECU to determine when to start the injection. The trigger is
mounted in the exhaust camshaft

OPERATION
During engine running, the EMS ECU receives the output signal from cam shaft
position sensor and is within the range
DTC DETECTING
CONDITION
Normal signal pattern has not been input for cylinder identification from the
camshaft position sensor signal for 4 sec. (Engine should be cranked to check
this error).
PROBABLE
CAUSES
Open/short cam shaft position sensor circuit
Faulty cam shaft position sensor
LAMP STATUS
System Check lamp ON
DTC REACTION
Engine will not start.
If this failure occurs when the engine is running then engine will keep on
running
HEALING
CONDITION
Ignition OFF/ON
