Controls, Indicators & Connectors 

This section defines the operator controls, indicators and connections of the 
SolsTiS laser system. Use of these controls, indicators and connectors during 
installation and day-to-day operation of the laser system is described in 
Chapter 4 and Chapter 5 respectively. 
  

3.1

 

Pump Laser  

 

Warning!

 The SolsTiS laser system meets the regulatory 

design & safety standards declared within this manual only if 
used with the CE/CDRH-certified pump laser for which your 
SolsTiS was factory optimised, and only if configured and 
operated with this pump laser per instructions in this manual. If 
your pump laser is not listed in Appendix B, or you wish to use 
a pump laser or pump laser power other than that stipulated on 
your original sales order, please do not attempt this before you 
have contacted M Squared Lasers. Doing so may lead to a 
safety hazard, damage to your system, and may void your 
warranty. 

 

Warning!

 Do not attempt to operate your pump laser before 

reviewing all information contained in your pump laser manual. 
Failure to follow all instructions in your pump laser manual will 
void your warranty, may cause safety hazards, and may 
damage your system.

 

 

Caution!

 If installation of your SolsTiS by M Squared Lasers is 

included in your purchase, please do not attempt to install 
SolsTiS yourself. Please call to arrange for an authorized 
M Squared Field Service Engineer to install your system. 

Your SolsTiS system was configured and optimised at 
M Squared Lasers’ factory for pumping with the third-party pump 
laser and nominal pump power stipulated on your sales order. 
Depending on your designated pump laser, SolsTiS may have been 
supplied with a baseplate designed to allow close integration of the 
pump laser head with the SolsTiS laser head. Similarly, if your 
nominal pump power is ≥8W at ~0.5µm, your SolsTiS system may 
include a High Power Pump Cooling Kit. Aside from a slightly 
different installation procedure, however, operation of SolsTiS with 
integrated, non-

integrated, or high power (≥8W CW at ~0.5µm) 

pump lasers is essentially the same. If you wish to use or later 
change to a pump laser, or pump laser power, that differs from that 
stipulated on your original sales order, please do not attempt this 
before you have consulted with M Squared Lasers. 
 
To avoid any possibility of presenting or omitting information in this 
manual that might conflict with your pump laser and chiller 

user’s 

manual(s), the reader is referred to your pump laser and chiller 
manual(s) as the sole source of comprehensive instructions for your 
pump laser system. It is imperative that all users refer to and 
familiarise themselves with all aspects of their pump laser and 
chiller manual(s) before attempting to operate SolsTiS.
