SolsTiS User Manual v10.0
2.2
System Configuration
Excluding pump laser, SolsTiS typically includes the following components:
1.
Sealed SolsTiS laser head (with integrated reference cavity
– model
SolsTiS-SRX only).
2.
SolsTiS wavelength/ frequency control unit. This unit, based on
M Squared’s
Ethernet-enabled
ICE-BLOC
photonic control modules,
is used to control SolsTiS’ output wavelength via the included
software UI. Depending on SolsTiS model purchased, this unit may
also control frequency scanning and locking. Note: the SolsTiS control
unit does not control SolsTiS emission, interlocks or power output,
which are controlled solely by your pump laser.
3.
Pump Integration Kit (PIK). This kit routes and steers the pump beam
from the pump to the SolsTiS laser head via a sealed beam path, and
includes all riser blocks to match the SolsTiS to the pump beam
height, pump beam optics, and a manually adjustable pump beam x, y
steering mirror pair to ensure optimal pump beam alignment, plus
manual re-optimisation of this alignment should this be necessary
(e.g., due to marked ambient temperature changes, pump beam
pointing changes, a cold system start after a prolonged period without
use, or excessive vibration). An optional servo-controlled Automated
Pump Alignment (APAM) module is also available
– please inquire.
4.
‘Netbook’ computer with software UI, which allows control of SolsTiS’
frequency tuning, locking and scanning via the supplied the UI
(running on a standard Web-browser). Communication between the
control PC and SolsTiS is via any cable, WAN, LAN, or Internet-based
Ethernet connection to the ICE-BLOC control unit.
5.
High Power Pump Cooling Kit (if applicable, ≥8W pump lasers only).
This kit is shipped integrated with the SolsTiS laser head, and
includes all additional internal and external components, including
compact closed-loop chiller, needed to provide the supplemental
cooling to the SolsTiS laser head needed to offset the higher thermal
load associated with a ≥8W, CW 532nm pump laser source.
A list of standard SolsTiS specifications and options may be found in Table 2

. An overview of the specifications
and typical performance of the specific SolsTiS configuration you
have purchased may be found in Appendix C
– Final Test Sheet.
