Timing Sources In line timing mode, the system obtains its synchronization source, through
the Stratum 3–4 module, from any of its interfaces
except
the following
modules:

Indicates the module is not locked to a reference signal.

Indicates whether the four midplane segments are running at
high or low speed. The numbers,
1 - 4 , 5 - 8 , 9 - 12 , and 13 - 17
represent the module slots, and the numbers, (1), (2), (3),
and (4) identify the segments. The numbers are illuminated
green when the segment is running at high speed; they are
not illuminated when running at low speed. Segment speed is
determined by the type of module installed in each segment.
If all high-speed modules are installed in a segment, the seg-
ment runs at high speed. If a low-speed module is installed in
a segment, the segment runs at low speed. Low-speed mod-
ules take precedence over the high-speed modules installed in
the segment. Segment 4 only operates at low-speed.
Yellow LOS
(Clock
Loss)
Indicates a loss of signal from the external composite clock
synchronization source.
This LED is operational only when the Synchronization
Source field (on the Stratum Configuration window) is set to
one of the following values:
CompositeClock , T1BITS , or
E1ETSI . This LED is not operational when the Synchorniza-
tion field is set to a value of Freerun or LineTiming .
LAMP TEST
Press the switch to test the operational status of the LEDs.
When functioning properly, all of the LEDs illuminate. If they
do not illluminate, verify the module is properly installed and
test again. If any one LED does not illuminate, contact techni-
cal support about the problem. A nonfunctioning LED does
not affect the operation of the module.
