3.6.5 Digital I/O Module Notices
1. For digital input, there are two types: current sink input and current source input.
2. The number of maximum simultaneous input contact points varies according to module type. It
depends on the input voltage and ambient temperature. Be sure to check specifications of input
module before use.
3. When response to high speed input is necessary, use interrupt input contact point. Up to 8
interrupt points are supported.
4. In case of high switching frequency or when using inductive loads, use Transistor output module
as the life of Relay Output Module will be reduced.
5. For output module to run a inductive (L) load, maximum open/close frequency should be a
minimum of 1 second On, 1 second Off.
6. For an output board, when using a with inductive load (i.e. relay, solenoid, transformer), the
inrush current may flow in a certain cycle when it is ON or during operation. In this case, if
maximum current is exceeded, it may cause a failure. Consider using a mechanical or solid
state interposing relay.
7. Noise can affect input module. To prevent noise, the user can set filter for input delay in
parameter. See section 9.2.4 in XG5000 user manual.
