3.10 Parallel interface connection
3.10.1 Operating mode
The parallel interface is a transmission mode of 16 bits data weight using 8 inputs
and an output of a PLC or data acquisition system. The instrument is compatible
with PLC with PNP or NPN outputs.
The parallel output and its configuration must be requested at time of order.
The data weight is available on the eight outputs in two subsequent times as
binary data two's complement of sixteen bits (binary integer). The binary data
corresponding to the gross weight, divided by the multiplier set in the calibration
phase.
The output in the conducting state indicates that the corresponding bit is 0. The
open output indicates that the corresponding bit is 1.
The data weight is updated when required through the BYTE SEL input.
The most significant byte (bit 8 - bit 15) it is available (valid data) after three
milliseconds from the input command BYTE SEL. Removing the BYTE SEL
command, the least significant byte (bit 0 - bit 7) is available after three
milliseconds.
A further request to read data cannot move until 60 milliseconds from the previous
(see timing of the attached drawing).
The binary number read is 15 bits plus sign (bit 16). The sign is positive with
the bit 16 to zero.
Two's complement means that if the data is positive corresponds to pure
binary, if it is negative it is necessary to deny it and to add 1 to get the data
in pure binary.
In Figure 27 are shown the minimum deadlines to be respected for the
connections.
