b. To shut down the engine, always run it at
idle speed for 2-3 min, and shut it down after
the supercharger slows down. Pay special
attention not to depressing the accelerator
forcibly before the engine stops. If the
supercharger will decelerates substantially
due to the sudden rise of engine speed when the
engine shuts down all in a sudden, the oil pump
will stop oil supply immediately; however, the
rotor of supercharger will keep rotating at a
high speed due to its inertia, thus resulting
in quick burnout of rotor shaft, bearing and
sealing ring because of oil shortage.
c. Before starting the engine which has been
withdrawn out of service for a long time,
always pre-lubricate the supercharger by
removing the supercharger oil inlet pipe and
adding appropriate amount of clean lubricant
from the filler port. Otherwise, the initial
start-up will lead to parts early wear due to
oil shortage.
3.6.3 Engine shutdown
When the vehicle runs downhill, press down the
exhaust brake switch or depress the exhaust
brake pedal, and then the engine oil supply
