5 Microprocessor status LEDs (also known as CPU status LEDs)
The microprocessor status LED helps you to determine if the microprocessor is running at a normal
temperature.
Status
Description Action
Solid off The microprocessors are operating at a
normal temperature.
Solid on (amber) The microprocessors are overheated. Check the BMC for errors and run the
diagnostic programs. See “Using a
diagnostic program” on page 212.

Power supply error LEDs
The power supply error LED helps you to determine if the power supply is working correctly.
Status
Description Action
Solid off The power supply is working correctly.
Solid on (amber) The power supply is likely to fail or has failed. Check the BMC for errors and run the
diagnostic programs. See “Using a
diagnostic program” on page 212.
Note: To identify the failing power supply,
check the power supply error LEDs on the
IDM Premium panel.

Expansion card installation guidelines
Before installing any supported expansion card into a PCI Express card slot, ensure that you observe
the following guidelines:
• Only one Host Bus Adapter can be installed.
• If the ThinkServer RAID 300 is available, your server does not support Host Bus Adapters.
• If a RAID 500 Adapter, a RAID 700 Adapter, or a RAID 710 Adapter is installed, your server supports up
to three Ethernet cards and one Host Bus Adapter. However, if an I350-T4 Ethernet card is installed,
your server does not support Host Bus Adapters.
