16 Cleaning and maintenance:
The power must be cut off before any barrier cleaning or maintenance operations.
16.1 Cleaning:
Cleaning frequency depends mainly on the environmental and climate conditions dictating barrier use.
Do not use abrasive products for cleaning as they risk damaging electric cables or
the barrier coatings.
Protect the conductive components from damp and dust to prevent short-circuits.
Cleaning to take place:
•
Outside cleaning, checking for lack of impacts, scratches, etc. that could encourage corrosion
•
Inside dust removal from the mechanical and electrical sections
16.2 Maintenance schedule:

Cleaning operations described previously

Checking that the opening and closing commands are
operating properly
•
Checking the different barrier adjustments
•
Visual inspection of the general barrier state (housing,
cover, hatch, etc.)
•
Visual inspection of the horizontal position of the boom
•
Visual inspection of the vertical position of the boom
•
Visual inspection of the general state of the boom
•
Checking the general state of the unhinging system:
o
Unhinging system fixing to the shaft
o
Blocking the boom in the unhinging system
o
State and fixing of the unhinging system cover
o
Rigidity of the boom/unhinging system mounting
o
State and fixing of the plastic sleeve on boom
bracket
o
State of the unhinging sensor grommet
o
State of the unhinging sensor cable
o
Unhinging cam fixing on the housing
•
Checking the general state of all accessories (light
support pole, traffic lights, siren, etc.) if fitted
•
Checking that the automatic barrier lifting is working
properly under loss of voltage
•
Checking the smooth automatic unhinging/hinging of
the barrier
Every six months
