5.3.2
Replacing a Lower Panel
DO NOT
attempt to open the frame without first disconnecting the mains supply.
1.
First lift the upper panel, as described
, and secure it in place using the
Note that you do not need to disconnect the upper panel to remove the lower panel from the frame.

If you have not already done so, remove the screws at the bottom of the panel using a T20 Torx driver.
The number of screws vary depending on the panel type: channel bay panels have three screws, while the
central panel has four.
You should remove the screws completely and place them carefully to one side, so that they do not fall into the
frame.

Gently lift the panel by reaching around the aluminum profile and pushing upwards. Then use your
fingers to lift the panel away from the frame:

Remove the cables from their fasteners, and unplug the connectors taking note of where each one is
fitted.
On all of the lower panels you will find 1 x Display Port, 1 x USB and 1 x power connector.

Carefully remove the panel by lifting it out of the frame. Lay it it face-down on a piece of foam, or similar
ESD-proof protective material, away from the console.
6.
Check that the rotary switch settings on your replacement panel are correct - they should both be set to
0, irrespective of the frame position.
7.
Insert and reconnect the replacement. Then gently lower the panel back into place.
8.
Now refit the upper panel as described
, and fasten the screws to secure both panels.
Once the control surface is powered, the panel will boot within a few seconds.
