SLM User Guide

Adding a Device Manually

If you know there is a new device on the network, or for some reason, the SLM does not auto-

detect a device, the administrator can manually add it.

To add a device:

Note:

Ethernet device pages may differ slightly, depending on the type of device. The

procedure below the examples notes these differences.

1. On the menu tree, click

Ethernet Devices

and then the type of device you are adding (e.g.,

SLC, SLK, Spider, or Other Lantronix).

2. Click the

Add

tab. Depending on the device type, one of the following pages or a similar page

displays.

Note:

The connection buttons on the right are inactive until the Ethernet device has

been added to the system. See

Connecting to Ethernet and Managed Devices (on page

224)

for instructions on using the buttons. The TN3270 button is inactive for all Lantronix

devices.
