6. ECO GREEN, DOUBLE and PLUS programming
General information
In battery-operated mode, regeneration is not carried out and the parameters cannot be changed;
• The controller allows you to manage your installation via time clock control, volumetric
(immediate or delayed) control or external signal start. The controller will automatically initiate
regenerations cycles based upon the programmed regeneration mode and the programmed
parameters;
• The controller offers the option to manually start regeneration simply by pressing the
regeneration button, as well as starting regeneration from an external signal;
• The controller is able to receive an external signal for inhibiting regeneration cycles, which
will block the start of any regeneration as long as the inhibition signal is received by the
controller;
• the controller can manage a chlorine production cell that will be activated during the brine
draw cycle of the regeneration.
High-efficiency regeneration
Regeneration with a probe
Regeneration with a probe saves a considerable amount of water during rinsing phases. This
function is very intuitive for the user; it is activated automatically by connecting the probe to the
socket; no other settings are required.
At the beginning of the backwash phase, the controller checks the conductivity in the water flowing
through the valve drain and stores this information.
During the brine draw, the slow rinse and rapid rinse, it compares the instantaneous conductivity
in the water flowing through the drain with that previously recorded. The presence of saline
solution in the drain significantly increases the value of the measured conductivity. By comparing
the instantaneous conductivity value with the reference value, it can determine when the different
rinses have removed the remaining brine residues from the resin bed, and it can therefore
terminate the rinsing cycle early. All of this results in:
•
50% saving of water during regeneration compared to a traditional softener.
•
Guarantee that, at the end of a regeneration cycle, there is no sodium chloride when the
system is running.
•
Greater regeneration efficiency, since no cyclic capacity is used to perform
excessive rinses.
Salt efficiency with "variable brining" function
The variable brining function is designed to save water and salt by optimising the brine to be used
for resin regeneration. This function requires the brine for regeneration to be prepared just before
the regeneration cycle, so that the controller can take into account the actual volume of water that
has been treated compared to the total volume capacity and, based on this value, it calculates
the percentage of exhaustion for the resin bed before starting the regeneration.
As a result, in this case, regeneration will always start with the refill cycle. The quantity of water
to be added will be calculated automatically by the controller and adjusted by the percentage of
exhaustion of the resin bed so that only the required volume of brine is prepared. For example, if
the controller registered 70% exhaustion of total resin bed capacity when starting a regeneration,
it calculates the theoretical amount of water needed to prepare brine for a complete regeneration
and multiplies this value by 0.7, therefore saving 30% brine.
