Assembly of the new combination rip-jointer fence
The combination fence is mounted on the outfeed table, which has three holes drilled in the outside
edge of the table.
You will find an “L”-shaped aluminum bracket with a lever on one end and a handle in the middle.
Also, there will be a piece of pressed board which is used on the rip side of the bracket.
Find three lag screws approximately 3/4” long and three washers. Install them in the predrilled holes
in the fence bracket and into the board. You must use the washers.
You will then find a piece of extruded aluminum 6” X 43” long, which is used on the jointer fence
side.
Find the “T” bolts and slide them into the back side of the fence and then insert them into the metal
bracket on the right side of the rip fence.
Hold the aluminum piece up as you tighten.
Mount the main steel bar with the inch scale onto the outfeed table. You will find 3 hex bolts with
washers.
Hold the heavy bar against the outfeed table (you may want to take the mounting flat bar off the
heavy scale so it is easier to handle).
Hold the flat bar in line with the holes and make sure the first mount bar hangs below the outfeed
table. Use washers and hex bolts to mount.
After the scale is mounted, you can lock the black plastic handles in place and mount the combina-
tion fence by holding the center handle off the jointer table approximately 12” or so. Then push the
black cam lever over 1 1/2” steel bar. Now, lower the fence to the table.
The next step is to mount the pipe extension on the side of the outfeed table. It screws on hand-tight
to a 12mm stud which faces the mortiser. This extension will support the rip fence for larger ripping.
