Q. Is there a vari-feed system for the planer?
A. Yes, this can be purchased through Laguna Tools. See accessories.
Q. My jointer tables have a crown in them of approximately .008 to .012, and I am having trouble
jointing boards.
A. First, check using a machinist straight edge and a piece of feeler gauge stock to make sure
the measurements are correct. Please note the factory specifications are .006 to .008. The
cast-iron takes two years to settle and no one today ages them for 8 seasons as in the past.
SHAPER
Q. How do I do curves on the shaper?
A. Note: THIS IS A DANGEROUS OPERATION. However, it can be done with the use of a
guide bearing.

Q. How do I use the router collet?
A. Remove the top screw in the top of the shaper shaft and install space and your bit into the
collet head. Now tighten the nut down. With the use of a tenoning plate or a piece of stock,
keep the piece being worked on ½" off the table as the router collet sticks up ½" above the
table.
Q. What stops the shaper head from spinning on the shaper shaft?
A. The various size shaper shaft collars and the top screws, which hold them in place.

Q. How can I make deep mortises?
A. Laguna Tools has 1/2” shank, very long cutting capacity mortising bits.

A Yes, at any saw-sharpening company or machine shop.
