6 Attach the dust bag with the cord and the MultiClip at
the end of the guide tube (Fig. 6) and make sure that the
opening of the guide tube is not blocked.
7 Take off the side cover at the right-hand side of the ma-
chine housing.
8 Pull the operating lever of the drive unit upwards to bring
the tensioning roller down (Fig. 7).
9 Position the sanding belt on the tensioning roller of the
drive unit (Fig. 8) and push it over the sanding drum (Fig.
9).
10 Position the sanding belt so that it evenly covers the sand-
ing drum (Fig. 10, A).
ATTENTION!
Position B of the sanding belt in Fig. 10 provoke sparking
during sanding (FIRE DANGER)! Avoid this without fail!
11 To tighten the sanding belt press the operating lever of
the drive unit down (Fig. 11).
ATTENTION!
• Never switch on the motor before tensioning the sand-
ing belt!
• Never switch on the motor unless the sanding drum is
raised off the floor!
12 Connect the machine to the mains supply ( Section 4.2,
Connecting the mains supply ).
13 Before sanding, check the tracking of the sanding belt
( Section 7.3, Checking and setting the sanding belt
tracking ).
