Macintosh Configuration 6-10
• Enable/Disable Startup Page- applies to the FS-Series printer status page which if
enabled, will be printed when the printer is powered on.
• Network Options- includes the following functions:
1.
Set Zone- enables the user to set the AppleTalk Zone for the selected
printer.
2.
Network Card Status Page- instructs the printer to generate an EcoLAN
2000E Network Status Page when the printer is powered on.
3.
Enable Emulation Sensing- this option is not supported by the 2000E. Emu-
lation sensing is performed automatically by the printer rather than by the
2000E.
6.6 Assigning the IP Address from a Macintosh
If the Macintosh is using the TCP/IP protocol, it is possible to manage the EcoLAN
2000E from a standard web browser as explained in Chapter 3. Before connecting to
the 2000E with a web browser, the 2000E must have an IP address assigned.
The IP address may be assigned using the printer front panel, see
Section 8.1
, or
remotely using a utility called KyoManage which allows setting the printer’s IP
Address from a Macintosh. KyoManage is included on the CD packaged with the
2000E.
The KyoManage program is located in the KYOMNG folder on the CD. Copy the
KYOMNG folder to the desired location on your Macintosh. The 2000E IP address
may then be set with the following procedure:
1.
In the KYOMNG folder, Open KyoManage.
2.
Highlight the desired Kyocera printer and click on Select.
3.
Open the LAN Printer Server menu and select Protocol Setup to display the fol-
lowing screen:
