Installing Windows 95/98 TCP/IP
1.
Click on the Windows Start button, select Settings, and Control Panel.

Double click on Network and select the Configuration tab. If TCP/IP is not in
the list of installed network components, click on Add to install it.
3.
Select Protocol and click on Add.
4.
Select Microsoft from the list of Manufacturers and TCP/IP from the list of
Network Protocols and click OK to return to the Network dialog.
5.
If using DHCP to automatically obtain TCP/IP configuration, then skip to step 6.
If not using DHCP, double click on TCP/IP in the list of installed network
components and enter the IP address and other TCP/IP properties as necessary for
your network communications. (For LPR printing, only IP address is necessary if
the printer and PC are on the same network segment). Click OK to close the TCP/
IP Properties dialog.

Click OK to close the Network dialog and insert the Windows disk or CD as
prompted.
7.
Windows will prompt to restart your system. The TCP/IP protocol will not be
active until the system is restarted.
Assigning the EcoLAN 2000E IP Address
The 2000E must be configured for TCP/IP communication. Please refer to section 5.7
for instructions.

Setting Up LPR on the Workstation
Once you install the spooler onto the workstation; the setup program will create a
group and icon.
1.
Double click on the spooler icon.
2.
Click on setup, define new queue.
3.
At the Remote Host Name prompt enter the EcoLAN 2000E’s IP Address, and for
the Remote Printer Name enter PORT1.
4.
Go to Settings.
5.
Select Printers.
6.
Choose Add Printer.
7.
Click on Next.
8.
Select Local Printer and click on Next.
9.
Select your driver and click on Next.
