Jumper Settings Appendix A-4
A.3 Reset to Factory
When the management utilities cannot be used to perform a reset to factory defaults,
the EcoLAN 2000E may be restored to factory default conditions with a jumper
(OP2). The function of OP2 is to reconfigure NVRAM. This is done when a unit is
moved from one site to another and should be restored to as as-new condition.
Use the following instructions to reset the 2000E to factory defaults with OP2.
1.
Power off the printer and remove the EcoLAN 2000E from the printer. The
removal process is the reverse of the installation process in Chapter 2.
2.
Locate the OP2 Jumper. See jumper location diagram earlier in this appendix.
3.
Move this jumper to the FACT position, so that the jumper covers the center pin
and the pin nearest the FACT jumper designator.
4.
Install the EcoLAN 2000E as shown in Chapter 2. Do not connect the printer to
the network.
5.
Power on the printer. The EcoLAN 2000E performs its diagnostic self tests. The
green LED blinks 3 times then goes into an alternating green/amber light
sequence. When you see this pattern, power off the printer.
6.
Remove the EcoLAN 2000E from the printer.
7.
Move the OP2 jumper back to its CUST position, so that the jumper covers the
center pin and the pin nearest the CUST designation.
8.
Reinstall the EcoLAN 2000E according to Chapter 2.
