6.1.4 Primary PTO shaft
Before using the machine for the first time:
- Grease the transmission.
- Check overlap of the u-joint drive shaft and
adjust length if necessary to avoid any
premature wear.

- Separate the two half PTO shafts and connect
them to the machine's input shaft and to the tractor
PTO stub.
- Check the length of the PTO shaft:
• Fully raise the machine:
When extended to the maximum, the tube overlap
must not be below 220 mm (8.6’’).
• Lower the machine in order to place PTO shaft in
horizontal position:
When the PTO shaft is in its maximum overlap
position (retracted), tubes should not butt against
the yokes. There must still be a minimum safety
travel (L) of 10 mm (0.4’’).
If this is not the case:
- Follow instructions given in the operator's
manual delivered with the PTO.
