METHOD FOR ADDING GREASE
1.
Remove the wing bolts (2) (3 places) of the grease can (1),
and remove the cover (3) together with the pump.
2.
Remove the follower plate (4) inside the grease can.
REMARK
Fill the center convex portion on the follower plate fully
with the grease, otherwise grease is not dispensed
smoothly due to air being mixed into the grease.
3.
Fill the grease can (1) with new grease. Place the follower
plate (4) on the surface of the grease. Press down the fol-
lower plate softly so that the grease comes out through the
seal portion of the center of the follower plate (4).
When setting the follower plate, fill the convex portion in
the center of the follower plate with the grease beforehand.
This makes this work smooth.
4.
Insert the pump into the seal portion of the center of the
follower plate (4). Set the cover (3) to the grease can (1).
Tighten the wing bolts (2) (3 places) evenly to fix it.
The pump operates for a while and stops. The air inside
the pump is mixed in the grease, and it makes the grease cloudy. Grease is not in good condition.
5.
Loosen the check valve (5) in order to discharge all the
grease which the air is mixed in through the hole (6) under
the check valve (5).
6.
Close the check valve (5) securely after finishing the air
bleeding.
7.
After discharging the air from the pump, pull the lever of
the grease gun to discharge all the air-mixed grease from
the hose and the grease gun.
• When adding grease, be extremely careful that the
suction part and the follower plate (7) of the pump are
free from sand or dust.
• The follower plate (4) may not be set correctly if the pump does not discharge the grease even though
it has adequate amount of grease. Set the follower plate correctly.
• 16 ℓ grease can is the standard size. More grease will be left if 18 ℓ can is used.
REMARK
Put a spare grease can next to the grease pump in the battery
box on the right side of the machine.
