5 Using the Software
• Squelch Pulse Distance : This is the distance between DIFN pulses in
the squelch data block.
• MK2 Extended Guard Band : The effects of MK2 Extended Guard Band
(EGB) according to the UniPro 1.8 specification are listed in Table 1 .

The Frame Generator supports a macro called GuardBand. It should be
used alone in one block and placed between HS/LSStart and the payload.
The resulting Sequence file looks like the examples in Table 2 .

Word Size & Sync Pattern Settings
• Word Size (bits) : The Word Size can be selected as 8, 10, 16 or 20 bits.
• Sync Pattern : D10.5 and D26.5 are the default sync symbols used for
the sync pattern. The symbols with at least seven transitions inside the
symbol (of nine possible transitions) are used for the sync sequence.
