Bipolar Electrodes/
Coagulation Probes

Indication

•

To coagulate tissue via a high frequency
electrical current waveform during
general, endoscopic and laparoscopic
surgical procedures.

Inspection

•

The shaft of the instruments should be
straight.

•

The  insulation  should  be  intact.  There
should  be  no  dents,  scratches,  burn
marks,  cracking  or  splitting  of  the
insulation.

Cleaning

•

Follow the general instructions for cleaning
indicated in the Cleaning Section of this
manual.

Sterilization:

WARNING:

High-level disinfection is NOT

recommended for “critical” instruments to
be used for laparoscopic, hysteroscopic,
gynecology or neuroendoscopy procedures.

•

All  electrodes/coagulating  probes  may
be  ethylene  oxide,  or  steam  sterilized.
Please  consult  the  Sterilization  Section
of this manual for complete instructions
for validated sterilization procedures.

Caution:

The following bipolar electrodes

are sterile, single-use instruments and must
not be reprocessed. Dispose of the electrode
after use.
