3.5 MACHINE OPERATION
These conditions must be met before elevating the platform:
•
Pre-Start Inspection, Walk-Around Inspection, and Function
Check must be completed.
•
Machine base must be level and set up properly for operation.
• Platform swing-in entry gate must be closed and latched once
the operator is in the platform.
• Emergency Lowering Valve must be closed.
•
Batteries must contain enough voltage to operate the machine
for the intended tasks. Check the battery charge indicator at
the platform controls. If the indicator displays red, battery volt -
age is low and should be charged before operating machine.
NOTICE
JLG RECOMMENDS THAT THE OPERATOR UTILIZES A FALL RESTRAINT SYSTEM IN THE
PLATFORM WITH A LANYARD ATTACHED TO THE AUTHORIZED LANYARD ANCHORAGE
POINT IN THE PLATFORM.
Battery Charger
The battery charger is located under the ground control console
cover. Plug the AC input cable into a compatible AC power supply.
The battery charger can be connected to an AC power supply at any
time or left for extended periods.
NOTE:
Turn off the battery isolator when charging the machine.
Refer to Section 5 for charger specifications and battery mainte -
nance for operators.
