CT-650 Command-Line Reference Guide

Release 9.4

Bipolar violations

The following fields appear in the BPV (bipolar violations) category of
the DS1 test results screens.

Channel

The Channel category displays the status of signaling bits for the 24
channels in a DS1 circuit.

Display of signaling bits present on each DS0 channel.

Field

Description

BPV Errors

Number of bipolar violations detected since the begin-
ning of the test. Intentional B8ZS code violations are
excluded.

BPV Err

Rate

Ratio of bipolar violations to received bits since initially
acquiring the signal.

BPV Err Sec

Number of seconds during which one or more pattern
bit errors occurred since initial pattern synchroniza-
tion.

Columns correspond to the 24 DS0
channels in a DS1 circuit.

Rows correspond
to A–D signalling
bits

B - busy (not idle)
I - idle
