PRE-OPERATION CHECKLIST
Efficient and safe operation of the Jaylor dump wagon requires that each operator reads and
understands all the operating procedures and all related safety precautions outlined in this section. A
pre-operation checklist is provided for the operator. It is important for both personal safety and
maintaining the good mechanical condition of the machine that this checklist is followed.
Before operating the machine:
Lubricate the machine as outlined in
Section 21.3
Use only a towing vehicle of adequate power and capacity to operate the machine.
Ensure that the machine is properly attached to the towing vehicle. Be sure the retainer is
installed in the drawbar pin and the safety chain is attached.
Check the hydraulic system. Be sure that the hydraulic reservoir in the towing vehicle is filled to
the required specifications.
Inspect all hydraulic lines, hoses, fittings, and couplers for tightness. Use a clean cloth to wipe
any accumulated dirt from the couplers before connecting to the hydraulic system of the towing
vehicle.
Visually inspect all side panel bolts for tightness.
Check the tires to be sure that they are inflated to the specified pressure.
Check that wheel lug nuts are tight.
Test the dump wagon brakes and brake lights.
WARNING:
Lug nuts are prone to loosen after being first assembled. Death or serious
injury can result. Check lug nuts for tightness on a new dump wagon or newly mounted wheel
after the first 10, 25 and 50 miles (15, 30 and 80km) of driving and before each tow thereafter.
Torque should be 450-500 ft.-lbs.
