ESPONSE
The Frequency Response (measurement bandwidth) is modified by inserting various IC networks before
the ADC. These filters act as high frequency rejection and help to electronically average the signal. The
available filter (bandwidth) values are:
OPEN
50KHz (20 µsecs)
15 KHz (66.7 µsecs)
600 Hz (1.67 msecs)
200 Hz (5 msecs)
10 Hz (100 msecs)
Step 1) Click the

or
▲
icon in the Frequency Response field to select the desired value.
Choices are OPEN, 50KHz, 15 KHz, 600 Hz and 200 Hz and 10Hz.

If your PR-8xx is equipped with the optional Analog Output capability, this menu feature will enable the
PMT signal to be directed to the Analog Output Connector on the side of the instrument.
Warning: The impedance at the Analog Output connector is 50 ohms. The device
connected to the Analog Output connector must have an impedance of at least
1 MOhm (1,000,000 ohms) to avoid loading down the signal.
Step 1) Make sure the Measure Shutter state is set to Always Open.
Step 2) Click the Analog Output field until it reads Enabled.

It may be desirable to instruct the measuring shutter to remain open after a measurement is completed
if, for example, it is necessary to monitor continuous changes in the state of a device.
Warning: Do not rapidly and excessively increase the signal above the current level with
the shutter set to Always Open. The PMT may suffer permanent damage.
Step 1) To make sure the measure shutter always remains open, Click the Measure Shutter field
until Always Open appears.
