Table 10: Insufficient pressure (partial lack of pressure)
Problems, causes and corrections
Probable causes Indications and corrections
1. Insufficient rotation in driving the ag -
ricultural chemical pump.
The rotation to drive the pump must be that of 540 rpm.
2. The 3 way valve on the filter is closed.
Due to the design of the 3 way valve, even when it is
in the closed position there will still be liquid flow -
ing when the pump operates, therefore there will be
insufficient flow.
3 Filter is partially obstructed.
The filter must be clean so as to allow for the free
flow of the liquid.
4. Inlet hose is partially obstructed.
If the pump is not correctly supplied it will cause a
drop in pressure.
Check to see if the hose that connects the filter to the
pump is not folded.
Check if there are no obstructions in the hoses from
the tank to the filter. Fill the tank, open the tap and
check if the water flows abundantly.
5. Entry of air.
Check the connections and sealing rings at the out-
flow of the tank and the inflow to the pump.
6. Pressure regulator. Check the valve and valve seat.
7. Excessive flow (flow from the nozzles
is above the recommended limit).
Check to see if the flow from the nozzles is within the
recommended limits (check the flow table)
.
Replace nozzles with a flow that is over 10%.
Only use nozzles recommended by the sprayer man-
ufacturer.
8. Pump has low replenishment rate.
Disconnect the pressure hose from the control.
Run the machine at 540 rpm at the pump.
Collect water for 1 minute. Measure the collected vol-
ume. The volume must be close to the rated volume
for the pump.
JP - 100 = 26.41 gpm JP - 150 = 39.62 gpm
JP - 75 = 19.81 gpm JP - 300 = 79.25 gpm
