3. ADJUSTMENT OF CUTTING HEIGHT

(1) Mower deck

(2) Height adjust dial

(3) Adjust bolt

(4) Rear lift arm adjust nut

(5) Link rod

(6) Blade

a. Start the engine and lift the mower deck.

b. Set the cutting height adjustment dial(2) to the com-

monly used position.

c. Lower the mower deck and stop the engine.

d. Set the right and left blades parallel to traveling direc-

tion of the machine as shown FIG. 3-3.

e. Adjust the front edge heights of the both blades by the

bolts(3) so that these fits the height of the dial(2).
-If the fornt linkage of the deck has downward play,
measure the height of blade while pushing mower
deck downward by the hand.
-If the height of the blade can not be lowered until the
height of the dial(2), adjust the both heights to the low-
est height.

f. Adjust the rear edge height of the right blade by nut

(4) on right side, so that the height fits the front edge
height.

g. Measure the rear edge height of left blade.

-If the rear edge height of the left blade is higher than
front edge height, adjust the height of rear edge by
nut(4) so that a play of the rod(5) is lost.
-If the rear edge height of the left blade is lower than
front edge height, adjust the height by nut(4).

h. If the front linkage has the downward play, lose the

play by tightening the nut(4) on opposite side.
-When tightening the nut(4), don't make the difference
between front and rear edge heights over 10mm.
-On the side of which the nut(4) was not tightened on
the above procedure, tighten the nut(4) so that a play
of the rod(5) is lost.

i. Make sure that all lock nuts are tightened.

NOTE:

When adjusting the mower blade, leave the dis-

charge cover attached.
