move the filler/ level plug (Fig.35) on the
axle housing. The oil must be level with
the bottom edge of the hole. If not, add oil
of the correct grade.
Change the front axle oil every 1000
hours.
Fig. 46:
1. With the tractor standing on level
ground, place a drain pan beneath the
front axle.
2. Remove the drain plug (Fig. 46) and
the filler/level plug (Fig. 45) and allow
the oil to drain, preferably after a pe-
riod of work while the oil is still warm.
3. Refit the drain plug, then refill the
front axle to the bottom edge of the
filler/level plug, with an approved oil.
Refit the filler level plug.
NOTE
Time should be allowed for the oil to
settle in the front axle before rechecking
the level.
Check the oil level in the front axle
epicyclic hubs every 250 hours.

Move the tractor onto level ground.
Turn the wheel so that the plug (Fig. 47)
is at the three o’clock position. The oil
must be level with the bottom edge of the
hole. Add oil of the correct grade if the oil
level is low.
Change the oil in the front axle epi-
cyclic hubs every 1000 hours, or every
500 hours if the conditions are wet,
muddy or exceptionally humid.
1. Put the tractor on level ground and turn
the wheel so that the plug (Fig. 47) is
at the lowest point.
2. Remove the plug and allow the oil to
drain, preferably after a period of work
while the oil is still warm.
3. When the oil has fully drained, rotate
the hub until the plug is in the three
o’clock position.
4. Refill the hub with an approved oil, to
the bottom edge of the hole, then refit
the plug.
Grease the front axle swivel pins
every 500 hours (four points), or every
250 hours if the conditions are wet and
muddy (Fig. 48)
