Using HyperTerminal to Send Console Commands
For help using HyperTerminal, see the documentation for
HyperTerminal.
To use HyperTerminal to send console commands

Connect EasyLAN Wireless to a PC serial port. For help, see
“Connecting EasyLAN Wireless to Your PC” on page 9.

On your PC, open a HyperTerminal session. You must use the serial
communications settings shown in the next table.

In some situations, the
Local>
prompt does not appear:
•
If the
Local:
prompt appears, the EasyLAN Wireless is in protected
mode. You need to use the
unpro
command, described on page 93,
to get to the
Local>
prompt.
•
If the
Boot>
prompt appears, the EasyLAN Wireless is in boot mode.
To exit boot mode in HyperTerminal, you can type
GOMAIN
at the
Boot>
prompt and press
Enter
. Or you can press and hold the test
switch while cycling power to the printer, and then begin this
procedure again.

Type the console commands. For descriptions of all the commands, see
the next section, “Console Commands.”
While you are connected to the console serial port of the EasyLAN
Wireless, you may see status messages similar to these:
start_wlan: entered
start_wlan: prism started
start_wlan: ssid=30158aa5
start_wlan: mode=3
start_wlan: special=1
PRISM: restart
start_wlan: entered
If you are entering console commands, you can ignore the messages.
Keep typing the console commands, and they will be accepted.

Type
exit
and press
Enter
to exit the console session.
