Push Notification 

A capability in modern mobile phones where a message notification 
can be received on the phone.  With AdvisorOne connected to the 
Internet and mobile phone with AdvisorSync Mobile added, 
notifications to the mobile device from the device are possible. A 
notice of an alarm will be sent to the phone. 

Note

: This requires 

specific versions of the AdvisorOne panel. Contact the service 
provider for details. 

Reporting 

Reporting is a procedure for the AdvisorOne panel to transmit alarm 
or other events to a central station. 

Silent Exit 

After exiting the premises, the period of time allowed to arm the 
security system.  

SMS 

Short Message Service (SMS) refers to text messages sent to or 
from the AdvisorOne system. 

Tamper 

Means to interfere with or cause damage to a security-related 
device within the system.  

Touch Screen 

Displays security status information. Also, an input device used to 
navigate through the system menus and change settings, check 
status, and use applications. 

TouchScreen 

See “Advisor TouchScreen” above. 

Trip 

When a sensor is activated. This sends an alarm indication to the 
AdvisorOne panel.

 

User 

Anyone making use of the Advisor Advanced system. Users are 
identified by a unique number associated with their PIN access 
code.  

Z-Wave 

A wireless communication protocol designed to remotely control 
devices such as lights and thermostats. 

Zone 

A dedicated area

—for example, hallway or basement—contained 

within a larger coverage area.  

A zone must contain at least one sensor that provides input to the 
AdvisorOne panel. See “Protected Area” above.
