Central Station
A protected facility that is constantly manned for the purpose of
providing immediate attention to all signals received from the
security system.
Control Panel
An electronic device, such as the AdvisorOne panel, used to gather
all data from zones on the premises. Depending on programming
and status of areas, it generates alarm signals. If required, alarms
and other events can be reported to the central station.
Cross Zoning
Used when an event is to be confirmed by two or more sensors.
Cross zoning refers to two different sensors being tripped within two
minutes of each other to report an alarm to the central station. See
the service provider for more information.
Duress
A panic situation in which a user needs immediate assistance.
When a duress signal is activated by the user, the AdvisorOne
duress facility sends notification to a central station.
Duress Code
A special PIN access code assigned to a user with Duress authority.
When entered into the panel, a silent alarm is sent to the central
station.
Emergency Button
When displayed on the main screen, the button is used to select a
type of emergency (Fire, Panic, or Auxiliary) and to sound an alarm.
Note:
The Emergency alarm always sounds locally. A response by
authorities depends on the central monitoring station connectivity.

Entry Delay
After entry to the premises, the period of time allowed to disarm the
security system before the panel initiates an alarm.

IP Devices
In the Advisor system, includes IP cameras and AdvisorOne
Touchscreens. See the service provider for more information.
Panel

Panic Alarm

Partition
A defined area in the security system that can be armed and
disarmed independent of other areas (such as in a Multiple Partition
System).
When the AdvisorOne panel is initialized, it can be set for either a
Single Partition or Multiple Partition System. Contact the service
provider for more information.
Piezo
The internal siren on an AdvisorOne panel or Advisor TouchScreen.
Pin Access Code

Protected Area
A section of premises that has specific security requirements. The
AdvisorOne system allows any premises to be divided into different
areas having different security requirements and zones.
