Setting
Description
Type
Configures the hard drive type. Use the space bar to select the hard
drive type. You can use Auto to let the BIOS automatically select
the drive type.
Maximum Capacity
Indicates the capacity of the hard drive.
Multi-Sector Transfers
Sets the number of sectors per block to the highest number supported
by the drive.
LBA Mode Control
Enables or disables 28-bit addressing of the hard drive, without
regard for cylinders, heads, and sectors.
32 Bit I/O
Enables or disables 32-bit input/output (I/O). If the field is disabled
(default), your computer works with 16-bit input and output.
Transfer Mode
Selects the method for transferring data between the hard drive and
system memory. The default setting for this field depends on the
type of hard drive installed in your computer.
Ultra DMA Mode
Enables the hard drive to use Ultra DMA transfer mode to transfer
data between the drive and system memory.
SMART Monitoring
Sets whether the system BIOS detects SMART Monitoring function
in hard disk drives; options are Enabled or Disabled.
