AINTENANCE
11.1. Operator Maintenance
Several levels of maintenance are available for the Minimate Pro with each level being dependent
on the type of repair required. Any maintenance not outlined below must be performed by your
Instantel Dealer Representative or Calibration Site, or the Instantel Service Department. Any
maintenance performed on the unit that is not included in the list below will void the warranty as
specified at the beginning of this manual. Refer to Chapter 3, Handling Precautions prior to
performing any maintenance procedures.
The following outlines the maintenance procedures that may be performed by the Operator:

Storage
When storing the instrument, ensure that you charge the battery for at least 24 hours and then use
the
Disconnect Battery command within the Maintenance Menu .

Replace Power Adapter
If required, replacement power adapters are available from your Instantel Dealer Representative
or directly from Instantel .

Reload Operating System
To complete a field repair, a new version of the unit operating system must be downloaded to the
Minimate Pro . If a new version of software is provided, refer to the Blastware Operator Manual
and follow the instructions for Reloading the Operating System .

Periodic Cleaning
Use compressed air to remove loose dirt and surface dust. Vacuum dust, dirt, and sand from the
Minimate Pro monitor keypad area. Use alcohol to remove stains. DO NOT use paint thinners
and ketone solvents. These will damage the Minimate Pro . To avoid scratching the protective
cover and display, do not scrub the surfaces with abrasive cleaning materials including cleaning
pads.

Replace Dust Caps
If required, replacement dust caps for the connectors on the unit are available from Instantel .
Replacement dust caps located on the sensor cables must be replaced at an authorized repair
facility or at
Instantel .

Maintenance as directed by an Instantel Service Technician
Occasionally, an Instantel Service Technician may authorize an in-field repair by the Operator.
Typically, an instruction sheet is provided and the technician guides the Operator through the
procedure.
