13.2 Defining coincident zones
FROM COMPUTER
Go to SmartLoop System, System Programming, Coincident Zones
This option will allow you to setup coincident zones on different panels in the network. Coincident
zones influence the status of adjacent zones that belong to other control panels. This function is often
required in large installations such as office blocks, as safety precaution.
For example, in the case of a twenty-storey building with two control panels, the first superintending
floors 1 to 10 and the second floors 11 to 20, it is necessary to allow alarm status on zone 9 (which
belongs to the first control panel) to influence the status (Early Warning) of zone 11 (which belongs to
the second control panel). In order to do this, using the interaction among zones (refer to Chapter 14
- 14.2.3 Interaction among zones for details) setup Alarm status on zone 9 to trigger Early Warning on
zone 10. At this point, you must set up zone 10 of the first control panel to coincide with zone 11 of
the second control panel. In this way, if zone 9 goes into Alarm status, zone 10 and 11 will both go
into Early warning status.
Note:
For reasons of memory space and processing time, the maximum number of zones that can be
linked in this way 60.
13.2.1 Procedure
1. Click on Add.
2. Select a link and type the name of the zone in the description field (e.g. Accounts department).
3. Select a control panel and a zone. Continue adding all the zones you intend linking to the first
zone.
4. If necessary create another link.
Refer to Chapter 14 - 14.2.3 Interaction among zones to program interaction among the zones.

13.3 Defining Access Codes
FROM COMPUTER
Go to SmartLoop System, Control panel x, System Programming, Access codes
This option will allow you to define the control panels access codes used by authorized security
personnel to access the reserved functions.
The defined user levels established by the law that governs the persons responsible for the safety of
the building and its occupants (Level 2) and installers and maintenance technicians (Level 3), have
been further divided into Users and Authorized users (for Level 2) and Maintenance technicians or
Installers (for Level 3), thus creating four different access levels. Each control panel manages 10
Access codes which can be assigned to one of the previously mentioned access levels.
